We walk in the Ferndale, MI annual Memorial Day Parade. The longest running continuous parade in Michigan. The 2019 Memorial Day Parade is on Monday May 27th.
We gather at 8:30 a.m. on the corner of Livernois and Maplehurst in Ferndale, MI
Volunteers are asked to wear red, white and blue. We ask that people refrain from any logos or statements (political, animated or commercial advertisements) on their clothing.
We strive to be respectful of those who we are honoring by maintaining a reserved mood during the actual parade. Be mindful that you may be carrying a sign of a family or friend of the fallen who have chosen to watch along the parade route.
Please also remember that since this is a parade and we do walk approximately a mile and a half – so wear comfortable shoes and lightweight fabrics to keep cool. We ask that you wear a plain red, white or blue shirt with no logos or messages on it. We are striving to have attention be placed only on the military personnel that will be carried.
